For Short Answer 8 you will be doing the SPSS assignment on pg. 214 in
the textbook. #1 shows you the data file. #2 and #3 refer to statistical
analyses that I’ve already done for you, so open the SPSS solution file
for chapter 10 (located in Task 6) to see the statistical results. In
particular, this file contains the Pearson correlation matrix and all
possible scatterplots for the following three variables: self-esteem,
anxiety, depression. Now you need to lay out the 5-Step Model for
Hypothesis Testing in the abbreviated form that you used in Lesson 7,
followed by a paragraph summarizing the results (example write-up is on
pg. 211 of textbook). So, what you need to do is:
1. Use the 5-step model for hypothesis testing to fully describe the steps of the test.
2.
Immediately following Step 5, write a summary paragraph interpreting
the results. Be sure to talk about any problems that were apparent in
the scatterplots, such as outliers, heteroscedasticity, restricted
range, and non-linearity.
