Essay 2: Research on The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
For this paper, do some preliminary research on the topics below, or one of your own choosing, and how they relate to The Handmaid’s Tale. Then, pick the topic that interests you most and come up with a research topic and thesis for it. (Your topic should relate to the novel in such a way that you are mainly discussing the novel in terms of the research you have done on the novel—not the United States in our reality—in your paper.)
This paper should be 4 pages in length (Times New Roman, size 12, double spaced, 1-inch margins) and include quotations from at least two scholarly sources, as well as quotations from the novel (making the novel itself a third source on the Works Cited page you will include).
To be clear: PARAGRAPHS (at least 4 pages) + WORKS CITED (at least 1 page) = ESSAY (at least 5 pages)
