Chapter 12 discusses criminal justice policy in Texas. The Criminal Justice system has been a controversial topic but even more so in the past few years. What are your thoughts on the Justice system in general? When the state of Texas wrongfully convicts a person, they are compensated $80,000 for each year they served in prison. Is this enough? Are these mistakes that happen to be expected or does the system need to be reformed? What reforms do you suggest? In chapter 10 you learned that judges in Texas are elected.
