Business Report (250。words)
The overall scenario for Assessment 2 is that you are the HR Manager of a company that has been selected to work in partnership with the HRM course for the entire semester. Your Chief Executive Officer has asked you to write a report focused on one out of the two major issues that the company is currently facing. Therefore, this second task will be framed around real challenges identified by the industry partner.
Two sessions will be organised to discuss further, directly with the company, the two issues selected for the assessment.
The first one is the “Company Tour”, where students have the opportunity to understand the corporate culture, the nature of the issues that the company is facing, and what has been done so far to address these issues.
The second session is the lecture that the manager will conduct for the HRM course, and which will be directly linked to the compan/s issues. During this guest lecture, a Q&A time will be allocated for students.
In your report, you are required to do the following:
Question(250 Words)-Undertake a literature review (additional research) on key HRM theories and models relating to the chosen topic, and explain what the characteristics of effective professional HRM practices should be. Identify and support your findings by referencing academic literature (at least 10 peer-reviewed references), including quality textbooks and/or journal articles of relevance.
* Follow a report format and appropriate presentation format, including following correct referencing style, formatting, layout (report) and grammar.
Teamwork Reflection (500 words)
The aim of this section is to understand if and how the theories studied together of working effectively in a team have been applied (and experienced) to your own team during the past several weeks. The section is 500 words maximum and needs to be written as a team. In other words, it will be a theoretical reflection done by the team as a whole rather than having different individuals statements collected together. While writing this section, think of what kind of obstacles you faced, how you managed them, and if you did not have any obstacles, what do you think was the secret of such success. To develop a strong theoretical reflection, please have a look at lecture 3 and the extra videos (Google – project Aristotle and Tuckman team effectiveness model) uploaded in week 3. Then apply these theories/concepts to your own team and teamwork experience. The reflection needs to be the last section of your report but before the reference list as you will need some academic sources (just one or two) to build a high-quality reflection.
A marking rubric will be available on Canvas. Team members will be required to sign and submit a cover page with their report, indicating their equity of contribution, and to verify their work.
Formative feedback will generally be provided within two weeks of the deadline for submission of the assessment work.
Informal feedback (guidance) will be provided throughout the semester in class, and/or in online forums, in the form of individual and group feedback on practical exercises, and by individual consultation.
Additional feedback will be also provided by the industry partner on the overall quality of the report. The best performing teams will also be rewarded by the company with formal letters of recognition or other types of recognition.
