In the discussions of the mediations of Mozambique, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the importance of interpersonal relationships between the mediators and the belligerents was stressed. In both cases, interpersonal relationships were extremely important for arriving at a resolution, but the practice of building, maintaining and capitalizing on those relationships were generally very different. Analyze the importance of interpersonal relationships in peacemaking. Be sure to provide a strong and scholarly analysis. Do not simply rely on impressionistic approaches. Use the readings that were assigned.
