Using The Theory of Linguistic Relativity explains how and/or why our human communication has shifted or adjusted during the challenges of 2022 (and describe that shift in detail through the lens of the theory). {Some examples: In what ways have we succumbed to the spiral of silence in America regarding the pandemic, vaccines, racial justice, the use of personal pronouns, etc? After being through a pandemic, have we changed the way we interact with others; i.e. do we plan for communication interactions differently now (Theory of Planned Behavior; Theory of Reasoned Action, Uncertainty Reduction Theory, etc.)? How have our attitudes and behaviors regarding spatial communication changed or been adjusted (proxemics, territoriality)? Find theories that you like, and start thinking of them in the context of our changed world; then, narrow it down to one theory (or two, maximum) that you believe best describes, illuminates, or explains a communication phenomenon happening now as a result of this changed world.
*You must use at least one academic source outside of the textbook that refers to your theory.*
