Here are the grading feedback I received from my last assignment that I want to make sure I do correctly:
When citing inside essay be sure to follow citation rules like all books and journals should be italicized while “articles” should
be in quotation marks. The same thing for footnotes and bibliography, DO NOT USE END notes. Full citation with all publishing
information is required. (the first time you use text.) Check citation format for this.
Your Source highlighted below appears to
not be cited correctly. I found this information on the web. For this course please use original authored text. Make sure to apply Chicago format with footnotes
Be sure to cite whenever discussing what BLANK authors may have said especially be careful to not only citing the editors. Use discernment when doing this. Only cite the editors if it’s the editor’s comment. Be sure to cite the name and original article titles of main authors. Check citation format for this.
You must cite all three-course required text, and one outside source throughout each essay.
On your pg 2 , you stated “According to Paul Kivel, ” yet, you cited Howard Zinn for your 2nd footnote?
You will lose 3 points for each required author you do not include or cite. At least one academic source for a thorough demonstration of academic evidence and analysis is required. Your challenge will be to Cite all authors including (Takaki and Zinn) more than once.
Analysis of academic evidence and is required. When you cite a quote, contextualize it with an analysis.
Make sure to provide full citation title of Taking Sides Text. Include original article title In Taking Sides (the first time you use text.)
For example, …notice first name then, last in footnote format, do the opposite for bib it will be last name then, first.
1 Tim Wise, “The Absurdity (and Consistency) of White Denial: What Kind of Card is Race?” In Taking Sides: Clashing Views on Race and Ethnicity, edited by Raymond D’Angelo and Herbert Douglas (CounterPunch, 2006), pg. 105.
Grading Rubric is based on Format 3/5
