In-text citations and a Works Cited page must follow MLA Style.
5-7 pages of writing in length, with an additional Works Cited page, which is required.
At least 5 sources (NOTE: You CAN have more than 5 sources for your essay)
Remember to write a self-evaluation, included AFTER the MLA Works Cited page.
Option B: Research Review of Mindfulness And Its Role in Combatting Racial Injustice
The recent set of readings included a focus on activists who believe that mindfulness is required when responding to racial injustice, including Martin Luther King Jr., who is arguing for nonviolent protest as a means to achieve racial equity, Rhonda Magee, who explores the inner work of racial justice. In a research review, compile, adapt, and expand upon the work you’ve previously completed in class to explore the question of whether mindfulness can serve as an antidote to racial injustice. I recommend choosing to explore a more specific angle, such as inherited trauma, healing as activism, social determinants of health, a specific policy solution, or otherwise, perhaps even an aspect that is related to your major/ projected career path.) You are not required to write an entire essay, but you will be writing a Research Proposal, a thesis statement, summaries/analyses of 7 sources, an MLA Work Cited page, a 1-2 paragraph preliminary conclusion, and a self-reflectin.
