Introduction paragraph with an appropriate lead (funnel, descriptive, anecdote, summary), a bridge, and a thesis statement
At least 3 body paragraphs each with a topic sentence and proper major and minor supporting details
Conclusion paragraph which restates your thesis and summarizes your supporting details and/or any final thoughts
B. Body Organization & Content: the essay clearly has distinct points, appropriate amount of explanation for each one, in-text citations, and no repetition (25 points)
C. Word Choice & Point of View: the essay is free from slang phrases; the essay does not contain any second person point of view (you/your) (10 points)
D. Grammar & Mechanics: best use of grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation as possible. (10 points)
E. MLA Format & Works Cited (10 points): the typed essay follows the basic MLA formatting structure (12-point type, Times New Roman font, double-spaced, name/class information, a unique title, quotes cited correctly); a Works Cited page is included showing the articles used.
F. Page length: three full pages not including the Works Cited page (5 points)
