For this research project you will conduct independent, scholarly research on a topic of your choice related to the course content and you will have choice to present the findings of that research in the form of 1) a traditional research paper (7-10 pages) or 2) in the form of acreative project
Discuss and express original perspectives and positions on African American socio-economic problems and solutions
• Explain and analyze how prior/historical events impact subsequent and present events/phenomena
• Identify and analyze connections between individual events and national historic events.
FINAL PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
The Final Project is the fully developed product you outlined in your Project Proposal. The Final Project, whether research paper or creative project should:
• accurately reflect the contents submitted in the project proposal
• contain a well-supported historical argument (thesis) that conveys an original perspective on the chosen topic
• contain a well-organized a historical argument that is logically grouped and sequenced
• contain a well-organized a historical argument that is supported by a variety of reliable and appropriate resources
• contain a minimum of five resources (books, periodicals, journals) to support your claims/argument
• contain appropriate citation for all sources using the format associated with your discipline (Ex. APA, MLA, Chicago Manual of Style)
o If you do not properly cite resources, your work will be considered plagiarized
o Include footnotes or endnotes as appropriate
• contain a bibliography/Works Cited page (as appropriate for your associated discipline formatting)
