The goal of this Thesis is to portray how far left and far right news sources portrayal of Kyle Rittenhouse impacted the public perception of him. This is can be up to your discretion but I ask to stay within the relm of that research question. From what I have done so far, The New Yorker is a good Leftist source and The Blaze Media is a good rightwing source. I will be attaching the work and resources I have done so far to *give you an idea of what to look for and write on*, but it needs to be rewritten by you. I will need the following:
Background/Introduction- such as why this is an imortant topic and why I should be doing a project on it
Literature Review- See attached checklist for guidance
Methology- I have attached my rough draft but will need some altering as I would like to do Fox News and Blaze Media as my right leaning sources and The New Yorker and The Guardian/Daily Show for far left. Somewhere, probably in methodology, you will want to explain how you defined right and left leaning – it is essentially based on this chart (https://guides.lib.umich.edu/c.php?g=637508&p=4462444)
*RESULTS*- need a whole results section explaining your findings and patterns you noticed in the articles, I would recommend order as 1) present right portrayal, 2) present left portrayal, 3) discuss differences noticed in right vs. left. First two sections can be objective – this is what was/was not seen in language, visual patterns, etc. It should be clear how many articles are being used — you will want to reflect on multiple sources from each condition and take bits and pieces/quotes from each to show patterns/trends.
If you want you to incorporate center presentations of the Rittenhouse case to add detail and length thats fine, I would suggest using Wall Street Journal since they are a neutral source
