Students will write a book report on Bound Feet and Western Dress: A Memoir by Pang-mei Chang. The book report should be at least 4 pages in length with 1-inch margins, double spacing, Times New Roman style, 12 pt font. Book report must use specific evidences from the book.
Students must direct their book report to answer the following question:
Q: In Bound Feet and Western Dress, Chang Yu-I was born and raised in Chinese traditions but later encountered various social, gender and political changes in Chinese society. Describe how the conflict between Chinese traditions and modern changes affected Chang Yu-I’s personal struggle with identity. Also what do you think about her identity at the end of the story?
