Regarding WWII, concentration camps, and Japanese
Americans, what was the religious and cultural resistance associated with the
camps? What were the WRA’s program and goal(s)? According to the assigned
reading, there were two historical interpretations of the Japanese reaction to
the concentration camps; what were these (describe fully)? What were two
fundamental features of traditional Japanese religious beliefs, and how were
Christians viewed in the camps? What elements of Japanese culture were suppressed
to protect the Buddhist religion? Give an example of how the Japanese were
similar to African Americans in avoiding “sociological death.”

Compare and contrast any two liberation theologies
covered in this course, such as Mujerista and Womanist theology. How does each
describe the nature of God and their places in the world? How does each define
their theological beliefs, and why is it necessary?
