Historians have long claimed that the eighteenth century—the century of the Enlightenment—
was the most revolutionary century in modern history, the century in which many of mankind’s
long-held beliefs and practices were fundamentally challenged. However, there is good reason to
argue that the nineteenth century was even more revolutionary than the eighteenth, as this
century saw the publication of texts that sought to even more radically upend scientific, political,
and religious thinking, from Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto (1848) to Charles Darwin’s The
Descent of Man (1871) to Friedrich Nietzsche’s On the Genealogy of Morals (1887). Having
read excerpts from all three of these authors and texts, whom would you argue is the most radical
or revolutionary thinker of the three—that is, which one of them presents arguments or theories
that do the most to challenge, perhaps even overturn, the way we’ve long thought about the
world?
As was the case with your first paper, be sure to not only discuss all three thinkers, but to also
cite and analyze specific passages from their texts in order to illustrate and support your claims.
please use Communist Manifesto, The descent of a man, and the genealogy of morals as sources
