I will attach the guidance instructions but a quick summary :
The future of retail pharmacy is slowly declining and being replaced by digital methods. At least once a week, we get prescriptions transferred to pill pack or other online pharmacies. These digital pharmacies and the ease at which they make prescription delivery less stressful are quite appealing BUT, i still strongly believe in the power of human centered relationships with our patients. Not trying to “knock their hustle” but the existence of these online pharmacies will potentially crumble the need for a next door neighbor pharmacy .
Given the fact that we are in the middle of a pandemic and with the recent requirement to get a second booster shot (which has to be in person), I will like to build more meaningful relationships with each and every customer who walks into my local Rite Aid to get their booster shot. Some patients come in just for the shot, but fill their prescriptions elsewhere (Pillpack, mail order etc). By building more human-centered relationships, giving them medication advise, smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure screenings when possible, I believe I can achieve that goal no matter how small of a difference it makes.
