There are common themes that are interwoven throughout the books we have read this semester, such as race, class, gender, culture, generational struggles, assimilation, marginalization, migration, discrimination, food, addiction, and war. For your final paper, explore one of these themes (or another issue) that is a common thread in at least ONE of the books.
In your view, how does this this theme relate within our cultural context and what does the author/s hope to accomplish and impress upon his/her/their audience/s by wrestling with this topic? What is the importance of language for defining one’s culture? And, ultimately, how does this artistic voice/s change our perception of his/her/their communities and relate humanness that we all share?
Be sure to find quotes that stand out to you and explain why they are important in your paper, use at least two critical sources in your paper and include an annotated bibliography for these sources, include a works cited page that lists all sources, and use 12 point-font, and MLA citation.
