This can be an important lesson or a comical lesson. Your narrative can be on a happy topic…it does not necessarily need to be a sad topic.
What is a Narrative?
A Narrative is a story. A good topic to choose is a life-experience, or Personal Narrative (see below). In an essay, we write paragraphs that are 5-7 sentences in length. Our final essay will be 500-700 words in length.

My working thesis is __The number of hours my daughter spends after school on homework has taught me some negative effects of homework such as physical and mental health problems, limited social interaction, and discouraged learning.
b) Describe the main point or moral of your narrative:
We all know that homework is important to reinforce the knowledge acquired in class, but the excess of it makes the student lose interest and motivation for studies. They also feel anxious or frustrated by not being able to deliver all the activities on time, which causes their grades to be poor. Children have to enjoy their childhood, share with their family, their schoolmates, do outdoor activities, etc. Otherwise, when they are adults, these negative consequences will manifest.
c) List 3 sub-points that will use to clearly illustrate your moral:
1. Mental and physical health problems.
2. Limited social interaction.
3. Discourages learning.
I have this, but it is not correct
Here is your revised thesis statement:
The number of hours my daughter spends after school on homework has taught me some negative effects of homework such as physical and mental health problems, limited social interaction, and discouraged learning.
What you have listed are three results of the hours your daughter spends on homework. We are NOT writing a report about the effects of homework, you are writing a memoir-like essay about YOU.
Take a look at the example thesis statement I use in my Week 2 Tips Announcement. If I were writing about the effects of working in the garden with my grandpa, I would identify things such as the fertilizer to soil ratio I learned to follow when gardening, or the need to wear sun protection, or the types of insect repellent that works well, etc.
The life-lessons I learned, though, are patience, nurturing, and the value of hard work.
