Critical Analysis 2000 words
You are asked to identify an episode of care you have reflected on in your PAD.
You will then critically analyse your application of person-centred recovery-oriented mental health nursing practice to the episode of care using either the CHIME or WRAP framework.
You will need to be focused and succinct in your writing to ensure that you address all the salient points effectively. It is essential that you draw upon your learning across all the modules and engage with critical analysis to make sense of your own values and attitudes and consider how these have influenced your practice during the episode of care.
Assessment format
Introduction (150 words) should include
An outline of the intended focus of the assignment.
Assessment framework chosen
Episode of care (200 words) should include:
The episode of care, giving a brief and succinct account.
Analysis of why this is relevant.
Critical analysis of practice (1000 words) should include:
Why the framework was chosen
How you engaged with recovery orientated practice thinking about communication and working with families
Barriers you experienced in delivering recovery orientated practice
Development of the therapeutic relationship
Impact of your own values, beliefs, cultural characteristics
Critical reflection (400 words) should include:
Evaluation of your engagement with recovery orientated practice
Theoretical concepts which inform on learning from the critical analysis of the episode of care
The assignment write up will also include all these points:
1.Use recovery words/language.
2. Use WRAP framework.
3.Relate your write up to the following
a. NMC Code of conduct/ practice, NHS values, leadership styles and skills, Duty of care and Care act, Mental Health Act,
b.Team Working/collaboration
c.Importance of reflection, critical thinking, SOAR task, communication skills, whistle blowing, freedom to speak up
d.Nurses and complex cases, CBT, pharmacological treatment ( in relation to the attached episode of care provided).
e.Change agent, the nurse as a mentor and coach and as an educator
f.. Effective feedback.
