For this discussion, please read Carl Rogers’s “Communication: Its Blocking and Its Facilitation” (found hereDownload found here) and the Purdue OWL’s guide to stasis theory (found here (Links to an external site.)).

1. What would you say is the overall point Rogers has about communication and empathy? What prevents us from understanding someone we disagree with?
2. How can Stasis Theory help parties who disagree with one another find common ground?
3. Think about a perspective within your topic you disagree with. This can be difficult, but present that side’s stance as accurately as possible in at least 100 words. What does this side say, and how did they arrive at their conclusion? After you write their stance with as little judgement as possible, look at the four categories within stasis theory, and identify one in which you have common ground with that perspective–in other words, where do you have agreement?
My topic is about epoxy floors and resins
