Assignment Description
In this lesson, you will review two critical tools for editing vector shapes in Illustrator: the selection and direct selection tool. The video below shows the different ways of using the tools to manipulate shapes and anchor points. I’ve included the Illustrator File below if you would like to download it and follow along.

After watching the videos, create a composition of your choice that demonstrates the use of the two tools to accomplish the following:
Scaling of Shapes
Rotation of Shapes
Adjustment of a Corner Anchor Point
Adjustment of a Smooth (curve) Anchor Point
Adjustment of the Handles of a Smooth Anchor Point
Submit your completed image as a PNG file to the Tutorial 3 dropbox
In this lesson, you will learn to create and edit shapes using the Pen Tool.
This Adobe page provides an explanation of the different techniques:

In the following video, the pen tool is demonstrated, and the narrator traces a Nike Swoosh with it. Watch the video, then practice tracing the Nike Swoosh yourself using the techniques. This may be more challenging than it looks. Save your completed Swoosh and then submit to the Tutorial 4 Dropbox. I have included an image of the Swoosh to trace (copy the image and paste into your new Illustrator document, or save the file and use File > Place in the top menu to add it to the document).
